Virus Protection - don't surf the web without it

Viruses are a fact of web life, but this does not mean that you have to suffer from the malicious deeds of no-good programmers. Below are six steps you can use to protect your pc from viruses lurking on the web:

Step 1 - If you use Outlook or Outlook Express, then you are automatically vulnerable. Update your Microsoft's Outlook Security Patch if you have not done so. The link takes you to Microsoft's website where you can scan for all Office product updates.
Step 2 - Don't open attachments. Even if you receive e-mail from a friend or someone you know, be careful as they may be infected and are not aware of it.
Step 3 - Stay up to speed with the latest viruses making their way around the internet.
Step 4 - Get protected and use an antivirus program. We recommend Trend Micro's PC Cillin.
Step 5 - All antivirus program have scan functions that scan your pc for viruses, schedule run the scan to run while you're out at lunch and scan at least once a week.
Step 6 - Update your anti-virus definitions. This will provide you the best protection from new viruses.
