To frame or not to frame

Let me start my stating that I do not like frames, never have and probably never will. Any competent designer worth his weight in silicon can design a decent site without chopping it up with frames. Try looking at a framed page with the monitor on low resolution setting, you'll get the picture, or more likely, a small part of it.
To frame…
Some reasons why designers frame…Frames allow you to keep pertinent information always on the screen. Frames also provide a simple way to create a table of contents navigation for your site. Frames can create an advertisement space that is always present. If you must use frames, please do some reading beforehand.
Or not to frame…
Frames can be hard to navigate, especially when you have multiple frames with sub-frames in them. Not all browsers support frames very well, this used to be the case, but most browsers, if not all support frames pretty well now. Frames can create additional maintenance and server loads as the browser has to load two or three pages instead of just one. So take my advice, skip the frame and create a unique navigation solution for your client.
